Properties of Diamont BC1265 RM base paint
Diamont BC1265 is a discount bodywork base tint for perfect repairs. The Diamont range of basecoats is designed for the repair of two-coat finishes. It gives a metallic, pearlescent or opaque finish. It has a shelf life of 60 months.
Preparing surfaces before applying BC1265 base
Start by cleaning the area concerned with a Degreaser (type PK2000). Next, sand with P400 abrasive paper to smooth out any irregularities. Finish by reapplying Degreaser to remove all the sanding dust.
Application of RM Diamont base
RM Body Paint can be applied over a primer, but also over the original paintwork. It can also be applied wet-on-wet over an RM primer or sealer. Thinner the base with 6% Thinner BC 020 R-M before applying with an HVLP spray gun fitted with a 1.3-1.5 mm Nozzle. You will need to apply 2 coats for an opaque tint, and a third coat to obtain a metallic or pearlescent tint. Wait until the first coat is dry and matt before applying the second coat.
