Tutorials covering the entire bodywork and paint repair process
It all starts with preparation: degreasing, masking, applying and sanding putty, and selecting and applying the primer. This stage determines how well the paint adheres and how long it will last, and our guides detail every step as well as the mistakes to avoid.

Solvent-based or water-based paint: which should you choose?
Water-based paint has become the standard for colour (due to VOC regulations and the ability to reproduce modern colours), whilst solvent-based paint remains common for certain primers and Clearcoats. The choice also depends on your equipment; the guide compares the two.
What grit should you use for sanding before painting?
