Properties of Cromax 1517W waterborne base coat

1517W is a Cromax Mixing Color waterborne Matt basecoat. It complies with Directive 2004/42/EC on VOCs. Made from polyurethane copolymer, this Matt basecoat is easy to apply and provides excellent colour matching. Its perfectly balanced covering and filling properties increase productivity.

Preparing Cromax 1517W Paint

Cromax basecoats are ready to use and require no thinning. Depending on the application conditions in terms of temperature and humidity, the bases must be mixed with binders:

• LV 1640WB binder (low viscosity)
• HV 1650WB binder (high viscosity)
• HT/FH WB400 Thinner

Applying Cromax body paints

Cromax finishes are applied in 2 operations. Except for metallic and pearlescent shades which require 2 coats followed by a 3ᵉ light pass.

Substrate for base colour 1517W

Cromax hydro Matt basecoats can be applied to:

• All original and repaired finishes.
• Primers surfacers and 2K Refinish surfacers.
