Preparing the surface
Clean the surface with soap and water, rinse and dry. Degrease with a Preparation cleaner, then carry out any necessary repairs. Sand the surface to smooth out any irregularities mechanically using 400 or 500 grit abrasive paper, or wet using 1000 or 1200 grit abrasive paper. Remove all traces of sanding dust by blowing with oil-free compressed air. Finish by degreasing again with a final cleaner/degreaser.
Applying Cromax body paints
Cromax finishes are applied in 2 operations. Except for metallic and pearlescent colours which require 2 coats followed by a 3ᵉ light pass. No Flash-off between layers is necessary.
