Properties of Cromax® 1531W waterborne basecoat
Cromax paints comply with Directive 2004/42/EC on VOCs. They are made from polyurethane copolymers. These Matt basecoats are easy to apply and offer excellent colour matching. Their perfectly balanced covering and filling properties increase productivity.
Preparing Cromax 1531W Paint
Cromax basecoats are ready to use and require no thinning. Depending on the application conditions in terms of temperature and humidity, the bases must be mixed with binders:

Applying Cromax body paints
Cromax finishes are applied in 2 operations.
For full coverage colours : Apply 2 coats of Matt basecoat, followed by 1 light coat for metallic and pearlescent colours. Apply wet-on-wet, increasing the spray distance with the number of coats. There should be a minimum overlap of 60%. The paint film must be uniform.
For non-covering colours : Apply 1 coat, wait until matt and then follow the application method for full coverage tints
Substrate for 1531W base colour
Cromax hydro Matt basecoats can be applied to :
- All original and repaired finishes.
- Surfacer primers and 2K Refinish surfacers.
