What are the features of Standox Mix 200?

The Mix 200 matt basecoat from the Standoblue range is Standox’s matt basecoat technology. This professional range enables superior colour matching and offers exceptional colour accuracy thanks to its specially selected pigments and the finest gradation of metallic finishes, regardless of the application method used. This range boasts incredible, unique properties for motor vehicle repairs and a wide range of colours to make the professional’s job easier. The Standox brand is part of the Axalta Group.

The Mix 200 colour is supplied in a 3.5 L tin and is available in clear silver.

How to use Standox paint?

Before starting your repairs, it is essential to wear appropriate personal protective equipment during application to prevent skin irritation.

Substrates:

The Standoblue range can be applied to a wide range of substrates, such as:

• Existing paintwork or original paintwork that has been properly sanded and cleaned
• Primer coats or sanded primer
• Surfaces must be properly prepared and cleaned before applying the paint

Areas must be sanded with P500–P600 abrasive discs if using a machine, or with P800–P1000 grit if sanding by hand. To prepare your mixing process, please refer to the instructions in the manufacturer’s technical data sheet. To improve the product’s viscosity, we recommend adding the Standoblue 2050307 Viscosity Adjuster.

Adjusting the spray gun:

> Suitable paint spray gun:

• Nozzle diameter: 1.2–1.3 mm
• Spray pressure: 1.8–2 bar (inlet pressure)

> HVLP paint spray gun:

• Nozzle diameter: 1.2–1.3 mm
• Spray pressure: 0.7 bar (spray pressure)

Application and number of coats:

Apply one and a half full coats to your car’s surface, ensuring the surface is thoroughly wetted to achieve approximately 70–80 per cent coverage in the wet film.

Then apply a decorative coat by increasing the distance from the surface, ensuring good overlap between passes whilst the first coat is still wet. Choosing Standoblue ensures you achieve a quick and effective result during your workshop projects.

drying time :

• At 20°C: 15–25 minutes
• At 60–65°C: 10–15 minutes
