What are the features of Standox Mix 200?

Matt basecoat Mix 200 from the Standoblue range is Standox's matt basecoat technology. This professional range offers superior colour matching and exceptional colour accuracy thanks to its specially selected pigments and the finest gradation of metallics, whatever the application method used. This range has incredible unique properties for car repairs and many colours to make the job of the pro easier. The Standox brand belongs to the Axalta group.

Mix 200 is available in 3.5 litre cans and transparent silver.

How do I use Standox paint?

Before starting your repairs, it is essential to wear appropriate personal protective equipment during application to avoid skin irritation.

Application surfaces :

The Standoblue range can be applied to a wide range of substrates, including :

• Old paint or original paint that has been properly sanded and cleaned.
• Primer or sanded primer primers.
• Surfaces must be properly prepared and cleaned before tinting.

Areas should be sanded with Abrasive discs P500-P600 if machine sanding, or P800-P1000 if hand sanding. To prepare your mixing process, please refer to the manufacturer's technical data sheet. To improve the product's viscosity, we recommend adding Standoblue 2050307 Viscosity adjuster.

Spray gun adjustment :

> Compliant paint spray gun :

• Nozzle diameter: 1.2-1.3 mm
• Spray pressure: 1.8-2 bar (inlet pressure)

> HVLP paint spray gun:

• Nozzle diameter: 1.2-1.3 mm
• Spray pressure: 0.7 bar (spray pressure)

Application and number of coats:

Apply one coat and a closed half-coat to your car surface, wetting the surface to achieve approximately 70-80% wet film coverage.

Then apply an effect coat, increasing the distance from your surface and overlapping the passes in the still wet film of your first coat of Paint. When you choose Standoblue, you can be sure of fast, effective results when working in the workshop.

Drying time :

• At 20°C: 15-25 minutes
• At 60-65°C: 10-15 minutes
