Types of application for the Permahyd 280/285/286 paint range :
The Spies Hecker tint can be applied in different ways depending on what you want:
1. Application for two-coat tints :
Before you start spraying your base onto your substrate, we strongly recommend that you use the appropriate personal protective equipment during application to avoid skin or eye irritation.
> Application surfaces :
- Old paint or original paint that has been properly sanded and cleaned.
- Primer
Surfaces must be properly prepared and cleaned prior to application and then sanded using Abrasive discs P500-P600 (machine) or P800-P1000 (hand).
> Gun setting :
- Nozzle diameter: 1.2-1.3 bar
- Spray pressure: 1.8-2 bar
> Number of coats:
Apply an even, closed first coat, then apply an effect coat, keeping a distance between you and the substrate.
2. Application for three-coat colours :
Mix your SH801 white colour with 5% Permahyd 9007 Additive. Also add 5 to 10% Spies Hecker 6000 demineralised water.
Once the area has been primed, apply your mixture until you obtain an opaque film. Then connect at reduced pressure, and leave to desolvate for 5 to 10 minutes. Then dry for 15 to 20 minutes at 60-65°C.
Next, apply your pearlescent pre-lacquer over the same area, extending the area of each subsequent coat by overlapping passes to ensure colour match with the original finish.
3. Application with Permahyd 9007 Additive:
For surface preparation, there is no difference to note depending on the type of Paint. To adjust the special bodywork spray gun:
- Compliant: nozzle diameter 1.2-1.3 mm / spray pressure 1.8-2 bar: inlet pressure.
- HVLP: nozzle diameter 1.2-1.3 mm / spray pressure 0.7 bar: atomisation pressure
Tech'team tip: for more information on gun adjustment, please refer to the manufacturer's technical data sheet.
