DESCRIPTION

Properties of 840R epoxy primer

Primer 840R offers excellent resistance to moisture, corrosion and chemical attack. A Chromate free epoxy primer, it provides excellent adhesion to properly treated metal substrates. It is both flexible and highly filling. This product complies with Directive 2004/42/EC on VOCs.

Preparing the bodywork primer

Surfacer 840R needs to be mixed with products depending on the chosen application:

It can be coloured with AM Centari® MasterTints® up to a maximum of 10% by weight.

Application of 840R primer

840R is applied in 1 to 2 coats. The 2nd coat is applied once a matt appearance has been achieved.

Apply with a gravity spray gun using a 1.4 - 1.6 mm nozzle and 3-4 bar pressure.

Substrates compatible with 840R primer

This product is suitable for :

  • Rough substrates such as shot-blasted metal.
  • Bare metal (steel, aluminium and Galvanized steel).
  • Original finishes
  • Old baked-on repairs
  • Cromax polyester putties.

It can be coated with all 2K surfacers and Cromax finishes.
