4CR Anti-Rust is a product designed to convert the moisture trapped within layers of rust into carbon dioxide. This cleans the areas affected by rust. The surface is then strengthened and sealed. Clean the surface again roughly. The 4CR 4040 anti-rust sealer penetrates effectively even through thicker layers of rust. It is particularly suitable for galvanised surfaces, as it stops the corrosion of the zinc. Shortly after application, the areas affected by rust will be sealed and can be coated with one-component or two-component putties or primers. Adheres to iron, steel, aluminium and zinc.
Application advice for 4CR anti-rust sealer
Before proceeding with application, the substrate must be clean, free from loose rust and degreased with a degreaser. Clean the substrate and remove any old, rusted layers of paint. Apply the product to ensure full coverage. It must be protected from moisture. Apply at temperatures of +15°C or above and a maximum relative humidity of 75 per cent.
