Matt basecoat Cromax 1401W features a highly pigmented formulation, providing exceptional coverage with a thin layer application. This ensures uniform, opaque finishes, even on difficult surfaces.

Applying Cromax 1401W Car Paint Base

1. Preparation of the surface to be painted with Cromax base paint :

• Make sure the surface to be painted is clean, dry and free of contaminants.
• Lightly sand the surface to promote adhesion.

2. Mixing the 1401W base :

• Carefully follow the manufacturer's instructions for mixing Cromax Matt basecoat 1401W, using the appropriate Hardener and Thinner.
• Follow the recommended Mixing ratios for correct catalysis.
• Depending on the application conditions in terms of temperature and humidity, the bases must be mixed with binders: LV1640WB binder ( low viscosity), HV1650WB binder ( high viscosity) and HT/FH WB400 Thinner.

3. Application of Cromax waterborne basecoat :

• Use a high quality body paint spray gun for an even application.
• Apply the Matt basecoat 1401W in thin layers, respecting the manufacturer's recommendations regarding gun pressure, spray distance and application pattern.
• Allow to dry between coats in accordance with the product's specific instructions.

• Cromax finishes are applied in 2 operations. Except for metallic and pearlescent colours, which require 2 coats followed by a light 3rd pass.

4. Drying the 1401W car paint base :

Allow the Paint to dry completely according to the recommended environmental conditions.

5. Finishing the 1401W waterborne basecoat (if necessary):

Depending on the desired end result, you can apply a clearcoat or protective coating, following the manufacturer's recommendations.

For optimum results, it is essential to carefully follow the manufacturer's instructions for mixing with the recommended Hardeners and Thinners, as well as the application steps. Compliance with the specified Mixing ratios guarantees proper catalysis, ensuring maximum paint performance.
