De Beer Refinish Washprimer 1-15 is a professional-grade product designed to ensure excellent adhesion to bare metal substrates whilst providing effective corrosion protection. This two-component phosphating primer is specially designed for use in professional automotive repair processes; it provides an ideal bonding base prior to the application of a filling primer or paint system.
This phosphoric acid-based primer combines chemical adhesion with anti-corrosion properties, particularly on steel, aluminium, galvanised steel and other bare metals. Its thin, even application allows for the effective preparation of even complex surfaces prior to painting, without the risk of overspray or distortion.
This product must be activated with a special thinner, making it a fully controllable and reliable system, suited to the quality standards of professional workshops. This product is for professional use only and comes in a 1-litre container.

1. Excellent adhesion to metal substrates:
The 1-15 product is specially formulated to ensure optimum adhesion to bare steel, aluminium, galvanized steel and light alloys. It significantly improves the bonding of subsequent coats, reducing the risk of delamination or imperfections over time.
2. Effective anti-corrosion and anti-rust protection:
Thanks to its phosphoric acid-based formulation, this washprimer forms a barrier against oxidation and corrosion. However, a vehicle treated with washprimer should not be left unfinished in a damp environment.
3. Thin application, no sanding required:
The product is applied in a thin layer, usually in one or two coats, without the need for sanding before recoating. It does not alter surface geometries, which is crucial for precision parts or partial repairs.
4. Fast drying:
Wash Primer 1-15 dries quickly at room temperature (approximately 15 to 30 minutes), allowing for a smooth flow of operations in the spray booth or preparation area, thereby optimising the body shop’s productivity.
5. Versatility in paint systems:
It can be overcoated with 2K surfacers and primers, except for epoxy primers. Do not apply prior to sprayable polyester putties. Do not apply a base coat directly over the Wash Primer.

2. Surface preparation:
Clean the surface with 1-951 anti-silicone degreaser, then wipe dry. Sand the surface if necessary using P180–P240 sandpaper, then remove all sanding residue using compressed air and a vacuum.
3. Application:
We recommend applying 1 coat at 10–20 µm (0.4–0.8 mil).
4. Substrates:
We recommend application on old, cured coatings, steel, galvanized steel and most types of aluminium.
Tech’team tip: Do not use this product on thermoplastic coatings (TPA).
