Features of Cromax 825R Washprimer Surfacer
- Excellent resistance to corrosion and blistering.
- Non-aggressive; prevents delamination, the reappearance of sanding marks and surface defects.
- Good filling power. Used as a reactive surfacer primer.
- Excellent adhesion to metals; recommended as a bonding coat.
- Can be overcoated with Cromax 2K primers or Cromax solvent-based topcoats
- VOC compliant, in accordance with Directive 2004/42/EC
- Off-white colour, can be darkened up to VS4 using Cromax AM5.

- Bare metal: steel, aluminium and galvanized steel. – Original finishes*
- Previously baked repairs
- Sanded 2K polyester surfaces
- Sanded cataphoretic coating
* Not suitable for use on thermoplastic paint
Application of Cromax 825R Washprimer surfacer
- Mixing ratio: 2:1 with standard thinner XB383
- Apply using a gravity-fed spray gun with a 1.3–1.5 mm nozzle and an inlet pressure of 1.8–2 bar / 0.7 bar (HVLP) in 1–2 coats, allowing 15 minutes between coats, 5 minutes’ intermediate solvent flash-off.
- Drying time at 20°C: 1 hour
- Drying time at 60°C: 15 mins
- Recoat within 8 hours maximum
- Sanding: P500–600, dry sanding only, for light sanding
- DPU: 5 days
