Steps for applying Syrox bodywork primer

Prepare the surface:

The surface to be primed must be clean, dry and free of dirt, grease and rust. Use appropriate cleaning products.

Sand the surface:

If it has imperfections, use abrasive paper to smooth and even the surface. Choose the appropriate grit according to the condition of the surface.

Mixing the primer :

Shake the primer container well to mix the components properly. Follow the specific mixing instructions provided on the packaging or the product data sheet.

Apply primer:

Use a paint gun to apply an even coat of primer to the prepared surface. Be sure to maintain an appropriate spray distance.

Allow to dry:

Allow the primer to dry completely according to the recommended drying times. Be sure to work in a well-ventilated environment to aid the drying process.

Sand (optional) :

If necessary, lightly sand the primed surface to remove imperfections and achieve a smooth, even surface.

Clean equipment :

Thoroughly clean your spray equipment using appropriate solvents after you have finished applying the primer.

Tips on Syrox Surfacer Plus primers

• The product must be at room temperature (18-25°C) before use.

• Mix the primer thoroughly by hand before placing the can on the mixing stand.

• Allow additional heating time for the element to reach support temperature

• For the insulation of certain spots - even on critical backgrounds - the best results are obtained with an average thickness of 80-120 μm in 2 coats, after drying in the air overnight or in an oven or with infra-red light.

• On doubtful substrates, careful preparatory work is necessary and the primer must be applied to the entire area.

• For film thicknesses greater than 150 microns, air dry overnight at 20°C or 40 min at 60-65°C substrate temperature.

• Excess Ready to use product should not be returned to the original can.
