Universal Clear Adhesion Promoter PAU400 - The professional multi-substrate solution
Ready to use, colourless universal adhesion promoter with excellent resistance to solvents, water and corrosion. Designed for wet-on-wet application, it adheres to a variety of surfaces (ABS, aluminium, chrome, galvanised sheet metal, glass, magnesium, etc.).e, glass, magnesium, polypropylene, galvanised sheet metal, cataphoresis, tiles, ceramics, copper, brass, etc.).) and can be overcoated with primers, paints (1K, 2K, solvent-based or hydro) and topcoats.
PAU400 is a transparent Universal adhesion promoter, formulated with specifically polymerised polyolefin resins. Developed to meet the requirements of bodywork and industrial professionals, it guarantees optimum adhesion between the substrate and Topcoats, without altering the final appearance of the product applied on top.
Sanding-free technology for optimum results
One of the major advantages of PAU400 is that it can be applied without sanding the substrate. Unlike traditional primers, which require mechanical abrasion to create micro-scratches, PAU400 preserves the integrity of the original surface. As a result, the gloss of the finishing product is 100% preserved, which means significant time savings and superior rendering quality for the bodybuilder.
Extended multi-substrate compatibility
PAU400 adheres to a wide range of substrates commonly found in bodywork and industry:
- Plastics: ABS, polypropylene, carbon
- Metals: aluminium, galvanised sheet metal, electro-galvanised sheet metal, stainless steel, magnesium, copper, brass, chrome, etc.
- Treated surfaces: cataphoresis, ceramics, glass, tiles, etc.
This versatility makes it an essential product in the workshop, capable of treating virtually all surfaces with a single reference.
Wet-on-wet application
PAU400 has been specially designed for wet-on-wet application. It is applied in 2 successive coats with a matting time between each coat (2-5min). Once the product is matt (20 minutes at 20°C), it can be covered with any type of paint, Clearcoat or primer. Maximum coverage time is 12 hours.
Substrate Preparation
To ensure optimum adhesion, surfaces must be clean and dry before application.
- Plastic surfaces: Degrease with a water-based degreaser or a solvent-based degreaser suited to the type of plastic. Note that some plastics react badly to solvents. If in doubt, use a water-based Degreaser.
- Metal surfaces: degrease with a water-based or solvent-based degreaser.
- Very hard surfaces: treat with grey scotch-brite and water-based degreaser, then degrease with Thinner.
- Special cases (chassis, skips, machines): hot high-pressure cleaning followed by complete drying.
How to use
PAU400 is ready to use, no dilution required. Shake before use.
- Spray application: ready to use.
- Number of coats: 2 coats
- Wait for complete matting between coats (2-5 min)
- Recommended thickness: 2 to 5 microns
- Recoat: any type of Paint after complete matting, maximum 12 hours
Resistance and durability
PAU400 offers high resistance to solvents, water and corrosion, as well as excellent UV resistance, guaranteeing lasting adhesion over time, even in outdoor conditions.
