Medium Grey Priming Spray 500 ml - Ref. AG500GM
AG500GM is a high build, one-component (1K) insulating primer in a 500 ml Spray, formulated with acrylic resins. Designed to meet the needs of bodywork and surface preparation professionals, it provides optimum preparation before applying the finishing paint to a wide variety of metal and plastic substrates.
Technical performance and benefits
High filling power With a dry film thickness of up to 150 µm (approximately 2 to 3 coats of 35 µm each), AG500GM effectively masks minor surface imperfections and prepares a perfectly smooth substrate before painting.
Ultra-fast drying The product is dust-dry in 2 to 5 minutes and touch-dry in 5 to 10 minutes under standard conditions (18 to 25°C, humidity between 40 and 60%). Sanding is possible from 45 minutes after application. Compatible with infrared acceleration (5 to 8 minutes).
Smooth finish and easy sanding Once dry, the product's matt finish makes it easy to visually assess the substrate and to sand. It can be dry-sanded with P400 to P600 grit soft discs for machine Touch up, and wet-sanded or hand-sanded with P600 to P800 grit.
High anti-corrosion protection The acrylic resin-based formulation gives the product high-performance anti-corrosion protection on steel, Galvanized steel and aluminium, guaranteeing the durability of bodywork repairs over time.
Multi-substrate versatility AG500GM adheres directly to many substrates without intermediate primers:
- Cleaned and sanded bare steel
- Galvanized steel (hot-dip galvanized, galvanized strip, electro-galvanized) cleaned and sanded
- Aluminium and polished aluminium, cleaned and sanded
- Rigid plastics (rigid PVC, PPO/PA, ABS, ABS/PC, PC/PBT)
- Polyester substrates cleaned and sanded
- Industrial paints or old paints cleaned and sanded
Universal coating Once dry and sanded, the product is compatible with all types of paint on the market: solvent-based or water-based, one-component (1K) or two-component (2K). A compatibility check with the finishing system used is nevertheless always recommended.
Ergonomic, practical Spray The dispensing system incorporates an additional nozzle in the cap, giving an even, uniform spray from a distance of 10 to 15 cm from the substrate. The self-cleaning valve (purged after use) ensures that the product is available every time you use it.
Conditions of use and application advice
Before any application, the surface must be clean, free of grease, dry and free of any contamination (oil, silicone, dust). Shake the product vigorously for 2 minutes from the sound of the mixing beads.
Apply in 2 to 3 criss-cross coats, allowing approximately 5 minutes for the product to desolvate between coats (wait until the product has a uniform matt appearance). Optimum application temperature is between 18 and 25°C with a humidity level of between 40 and 60%.
It is essential to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment: respiratory protection mask, gloves and goggles.
Restrictions on use
This product is not suitable for substrates made of polystyrene, polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) and PP-based mixtures (PP/EPDM type). A specific adhesion promoter for flexible plastics, such as Carross Universal Adhesion Promoter (PAU400), must be used on these materials.
Do not use on thermoplastic paints. Do not rework the surface with a two-component polyester putty after applying this primer.
