The essential product for invisible Clearcoat bodywork joints
SprayMax 1K Bonding Agent (Ref. 680093) is a precision tool formulated to solve one of the most difficult problems in bodywork Touch up: achieving a perfectly invisible transition zone between an existing Clearcoat and a new application.
Thanks to its composition based on high-performance resin and solvent Coveralls, this product simultaneously penetrates and dissolves the old and new Clearcoat, creating a seamless junction that is undetectable to the naked eye.
Why professionals choose it
Â
The success of a bodywork Touch up depends on more than just the quality of the paint or Clearcoat applied. It comes down to the last few seconds of the job, at the moment of the join. A poorly managed Clearcoat mist leaves an aureole, a mark, a defect that requires the whole panel to be repaired.
Â
Bonding Binder 680093 eliminates this risk:
- Borderless transition: The product literally drowns the fog zone in the existing film. The boundary between old and new layers disappears completely.
- No colour deviation: The neutral formulation does not alter the shade or depth of the existing Clearcoat. The result is uniform throughout the panel.
- High dissolving power: Works effectively on a wide variety of Clearcoats and Topcoats, in both 1K and 2K.
- Specially designed for Polishing: The Matt basecoat obtained is an ideal base for Polishing work. The film can be polished without the risk of tearing, guaranteeing a brilliant, uniform end result.
Recommended procedure
Â
To guarantee optimum results, the Bonding Binder is integrated directly into the Clearcoat application protocol:
Â
- Prepare the transition area by lightly roughening the surface with an abrasive pad (grit P2000 to P4000). The surface must be clean and frosted to ensure good adhesion and dissolution.
- Apply your Clearcoat (1K/2K clear or 2K Topcoat) according to your usual protocol.
- Immediately apply the bonding agent to the spray mist area. Quick action is essential so that the solvent acts while the Clearcoat is still fresh.
- Spray from a distance of15-20 cm until you obtain an even, uniform film.
- Allow to dry, then proceed with Polishing to restore the shine of the surrounding Clearcoat.
Â
Optimum application conditions For consistent, reproducible results, application is recommended between 18 and 25°C, with humidity between 40 and 60%. Outside these conditions, dissolution kinetics may be altered, affecting the quality of the final joint.
