Carross wet-on-wet epoxy primer – AEM1
The Carross wet-on-wet epoxy primer offers excellent corrosion resistance and is very easy to sand. This professional-grade product can be used on: steel, galvanized steel, aluminium, sanded cataphoretic coatings and old paintwork. It is also compatible with polyester putties.
This AEM1 epoxy primer provides excellent adhesion and is very easy to use. Furthermore, it has fast drying properties, enabling body repair technicians to increase productivity in the workshop. This product is suitable for demanding automotive repairs and can be used as a sandable primer or a wet-on-wet primer.

Application of AEM1 wet-on-wet primer:
1. Wet-on-wet method:
- Mixing: 2 parts primer + 1 part hardener + 0–10 per cent thinner
- Apply using a paint spray gun with a 1.3 mm nozzle
- Apply 1 coat to your vehicle’s surface
- Recoatable after just 30 minutes at 20°C
- Pot life at 20°C: 40 minutes
- Dry film thickness: 20–35 µm
2. Sandable version:
- Mixing ratio: 2 parts primer + 1 part hardener + 0–10 per cent thinner
- Apply using a paint spray gun with a 1.6 mm nozzle
- Apply 1 to 2 coats to your car’s surface, then wait 5 to 10 minutes between each coat
- Can be sanded dry with P400–P500
- Dry film thickness: 40–60 µm
Drying time for AEM1 primer:
- At 20°C: 5 hours (sandable) 30 minutes (wet-on-wet)
- At 60°C: 30 minutes (sandable)
