Properties of the 800R adhesion promoter for unprimed plastic parts
The 800R adhesion promoter provides excellent adhesion to plastic components. It consists of chlorinated polyolefin.
Preparation of the bodywork primer
New exterior plastic automotive parts:
Preheat the parts for 60 minutes at a temperature of between 60 and 65 °C.
- Initial cleaning: use an ultra-fine pad soaked in 3950S anti-static degreaser.
- Final cleaning: use a clean cloth soaked in 3950S anti-static degreaser.
Wipe the surface thoroughly to loosen and remove contaminants, then dry immediately with a clean cloth.
Change the cloth regularly and never use soiled cloths. Ensure that all traces of release agent are completely removed.
Repairing exterior plastic car parts:
The parts must first be cleaned and sanded.
Application of 800R primer
800R is applied in 1 to 2 coats. The flash-off between layers is 5 minutes. It is to be followed by a 2K elasticised primer after 10–15 minutes; do not apply the topcoat directly.
It is applied using a gravity-fed spray gun with a 1.2–1.4 mm nozzle and a pressure of 2–3 bar.
