Properties of Sikkens Colorbuild Plus Primer

Colorbuild Plus primers are VOC compliant. They are composed of acrylic and polyester resins. Available in 6 shades, they can be mixed together to obtain the shade closest to that of the finish. This primer can be sanded or applied wet-on-wet.

Preparation for Sikkens Body Primer

Depending on the method of application chosen, the mixing proportions vary:

• Sanding version: Colorbuild Plus Sanding Hardener* (vol. 3:1) + 10% Colorbuild Plus Sanding Activator*.
• Wet-on-wet version: Colorbuild Plus Non Sanding Hardener * (vol. 100 : 25) + Colorbuild Plus Non Sanding Activator* (vol. 100 : 35)

Application of Sikkens ColorBuild Plus Body Primer

Colorbuild Plus primers can be used in sandable or wet-on-wet versions.

• Sanding version: application is carried out in 2 to 3 coats. The waiting time between coats is 4 to 6 minutes at 20°C.
• Wet-on-wet version: a single coat is required.

Substrates compatible with Colorbuild Plus Primer

They are compatible with the following substrates

• Old coats of Paint
• Steel
• Aluminium
• Galvanized steel
• Cataphoresis
• Fiberglass-reinforced polyester
• Polyester putty
• Sikkens Polysurfacer
• Epoxy II primer
• Sikkens Wash primer

These primers can be overcoated with all Sikkens finishes.
