A fast drying primer that can be used as a filler or in a wet-on-wet application. Excellent adhesion to iron, steel, aluminium, galvanized surfaces and plastics (PP-EPDM, ABS, PC, ABSPC, PMMA, PU, PVC, GRP). It is strongly recommended that an adhesion test be carried out on plastics, particularly PP-EPDM. This primer is very easy to sand.

Application of 4CR’s 4270.4000 wet-on-wet bodywork primer

Sand aluminium with P220 grit, and steel and galvanized steel with P120 grit, then degrease using a silicone-based degreaser (for galvanized steel: an alkaline cleaner).

We recommend using this with the fast-curing hardener:

• For filling applications: a 4:1 ratio with hardener 0407 and 00%–05% with thinner 0505, or a 6:1 ratio with hardener 0408 and 5% – 10 per cent with its thinner 0505.
• For wet-on-wet application: a 4:1 ratio with hardener 0407 and 20%–30% with thinner 0505, or a 6:1 ratio with hardener 0408 and 25% – 30 per cent with its thinner 0505.
• For use on plastic: a 4:1 ratio with hardener 0407 and 20%–30% with thinner 0505, or a 6:1 ratio with hardener 0408 and 25% – 30 per cent with its 0505 thinner.

Use a gravity-fed spray gun with a 1.2–1.8 mm nozzle at a pressure of 2–2.5 bar, applying 1–3 coats and allowing 5–8 minutes between coats

The product is dry in 30–40 minutes at 60°C
