Properties of Cromax 1057R high-productivity primer
The 1057R VOCprimer (VOC IIB(c) 540 g/l) offers excellent filling power and a fine finish. It is easy to apply and remains easy to sand even after one hour of air drying. This product is compatible with the ValueShade®* system.

Application of Cromax 1057R primer
The 1057R two-component High Solid primer can be applied using two methods:
- High-build: this method is used to mask putty marks and to fill minor sanding scratches or drill holes.
- Sanding finish: this is suitable for joints, panels and full paint finishes.
- Drying time: 1 hour
- Final flash-off: 30 minutes
- Sanding: P500
Substrates compatible with this primer
Cromax 1057R primer is suitable for:
- Original finishes and older oven-cured repairs.
- Cataphoretic coatings
- Sanded polyester putties, epoxy primers and Cromax reactive primers
It can be overpainted with all Cromax topcoats.
This high-productivity primer is also available in white under reference number 1051R.
*The ValueShade® system provides a simple solution to issues associated with modern transparent pigments. There are 7 ValueShade® formulations corresponding to 7 different levels of intensity: from white to black, including various shades of grey. The chosen grey undercoat enhances the intensity of the transparent colour. The desired colour is achieved by applying two standard coats, the last of which does not need to be thick.
